Janet Houck - food

Donna Brolander – maybe hang art

Kristin Dieng – hang art

If I need to correct spelling on any names please let me know. Also I need to know how many pieces that you each want to have in the show. They all have to be for sale and I am hoping we can each put in one to three pieces. It will depend on the size of the mosaics and the quantity that people give me. The sooner I can get this info the better.

We plan on hanging the Van Gogh piece and installing it at the end of the entrance hall. Because all art has to be for sale we decided to put a price of $2,400 on it. If we have enough black and white 8”x8” mosaics (our February challenge) we can hang them in a tight grouping. The same with the pendent challenge pieces. If you did not make it to the meeting but have a pendent piece please finish it for the show.

The artists that will hang the mosaics for the show are Janine, Kristin, Barb, Cheryl, myself and possibly Donna.

We have June 4th and 5th to get the show hung.

On Wednesday May 30 the center needs help to receive our mosaics. Barb Steen will be there from 11:00 to 2:00, Donna from 2:00 to 4:00 and Kelly from 4:00 to 7:00. On the 31st. the centers employees can receive the work from 11 to 7 p.m.

Amy, Lisa Pearson and Janet will coordinate to provide the food.

Edina Art center provides coffee, lemon water, veggie tray, plates, cups and serving platters for the opening. Occasionally they have bakery items donated to them on Thursdays and they will provide those if available.

There is no meeting before the show so Amy, Lisa Pearson and Janet please communicate what food will be purchased for the show.

All food will need to be store purchased. Nothing can be baked and brought from home.

Thank you so much to the people that have volunteered for various jobs. I would still be looking for two people to help hang the show and a few people to come to the center about 4:15 the day of the show to help the food volunteers arrange food on platters. If you wish to help please let me know.

We have been accepted in a show at The Hopkins art center from March 28th to May 12th. We will have the gallery space on the upper level. I have not seen the contract yet but will forward it when I receive it. A couple of good things that I do know is that there is no fee to be in the show and no individual fee for each artist to enter a mosaic. They provide some food but we will want to add to what is provided.

Shelley is working on the Monet challenge for those participating. She will have the pieces to start the project at the June meeting.

The June meeting is at Amy Leyden’s home. Bring your paper mosaic challenge (any size you want make it) to that meeting. We are using National Geographic magazines. If you were not at the meeting you can still participate in this challenge. It is preferred that National Geographic’s are used. If there is enough interest we can do a material swap at this meeting too.

Best Regards,

Trudy
