June 2017

We had a wonderful turn out for our June meeting. There will not be another meeting until September 13th. We will meet at Kristin Dieng’s home. More info as we get closer to the date but if you want to use the summer to work on the September challenge we are to create a mosaic using mostly scrap glass and left over “ stuff” . The piece can be any size.

I have several people who have volunteered for receiving mosaics / hanging art on the 26th but I could use additional volunteers for the 25th. On the 25th it will probably be just receiving mosaics and maybe starting to arrange the pieces in areas where they may be hung.

I believe that the following people have volunteered for the 25th- Janet Houck and Judy Sell. We can have drop off from 11:00 to 4:30 so I would like to have two shifts if possible.

For the 26th we can start at 9:30 and go until 4:30 so two shifts this day would make sense. So far I have Myself and Maria in the morning and the following people in the afternoon: Janine, Barb Steen, Debra D’Souza and Shawn Wiski.

For the deinstall and pick up I have Maria, Janet and Rachel. If you wish to participate please let me know. The deinstall should just be verifying that artists get their pieces on December 4th.

Good news as far as the digital files. We can get two per mosaic artist. Please send to Maria to send to the Phipps. We need these to Maria by July 20th. This gives the Phipps an opportunity to use your art in their promotional materials.

As of right now Rachel Arntson has volunteered to have the Christmas pot luck at her home. Rachel is in Maple Grove and mentioned that she would be happy to have the pot luck but because she is far north if there is someone more centrally located that wants to have it please let us know.

The Starry Night collaboration turned out to be a really fun and exciting challenge. If you would like to do another one (especially for those who did not do this one) bring ideas for a new one to the Sept. meeting.

Have a great, safe summer and make time for some mosaics!

Best regards,

Trudy
